History isn't all in the past
Tackling troubling periods from history means treading carefully. However, it requires sensitivity and subtlety, and sometimes an indirect approach to really resonate with students. In our free lesson, we bring a cross-curricular approach to teaching the Holocaust as we not only explore cultural bias and discrimination from the past but also shine a light on how these same issues are no less relevant today.
In this post-truth age of fake news, deep fakes, and fake social media accounts, equipping young people with critical thinking skills is more important than ever. Utilising our free lesson plan will help to arm students against a sea of misinformation by approaching it through the lens of the Holocaust.
We communicate the memory of the Holocaust for a contemporary purpose: to cultivate ‘Upstanders’ against hate and persecution. We achieve this through sharing the unique testimonies and artefacts of our remarkable family of Holocaust survivors, who wholeheartedly support our mission.
Our on-site and online learning programme focus on the choices made by individuals during the Holocaust, and the challenge of being an Upstander today.
